Draft 9 Poster: Memories that last for enternityThis work IS related to my theme, which is 'Arts as a form of expression to communicate the philosophy of a culture'. The reason why I chose this work was because of, well everything; in fan making, the people use fabric and paint on it while as for us. Since we're still learning, we have paper fans prepared and all we have to do is to paint or write on it; as if we were designing our very own fans, which we were. The workshop itself (the room) is a place for the fan makers to produce their fans, so just imagine all us students in there making our very own fans to sell off (in this case for us to keep). It looks like we, ourselves are fan makers.
To summarize it, the poster shows everyone as fan makers making their very own unique fans. Everyone has their different perspectives on art, whether they know how to draw or not and I can quite tell that everyone (even the ones not included in the picture) is enjoying the fun they're having while making the fans. Maybe, maybe even the fan makers enjoy their work. The quote there "Memories that last for eternity" to me means that a picture can hold a thousand words and memories as well. For me (again) I can be forgetful at times, thus why I have pictures to hold precious memories of what we did during the fan making process and throughout China. Having memories taken or printed out in pictures I can keep is the best way to preserve them for all eternity.
